Bio
Daniel began playing violin at the age of 6, and now 21 years later he continues to teach students of a variety of ages. During lessons, there will be elements of music theory and instrument maintenance to improve your confidence and quality of sound.
Throughout the two decades, there have been countless performances, eisteddfods, exams, orchestra’s, workshop programs (incl. SHEP), that he has been a part of. Now with a young family, he continues to make time for learners to find the joy of music as he did.
Daniel tutored violin during high school, and has also taught and performed in theatre and music academies since.
In the last few years there has been a great increase in adult learners. Some are coming back after playing during their school years while others are looking for a new hobby. Regardless of age, beginners will be able to find a place to start their lessons and enjoy music at their own pace.
Lessons are currently based in Park Ridge. Email enquiries to bowandthebridge@gmail.com
Teaching Info
A first lesson gives a great opportunity to discover where the student is at in their journey. It also gives parents and the teacher an idea of what expectations can be set going forward for resources, music, and at home practice.
There are great resources available throughout the AMEB books, even if you are not looking to do exams. Countless beginner and intermediate books are available outside of these to help widen the styles of music to play.
Music theory is critical to understanding how music is created. There will be interesting elements woven into lessons to enhance your understanding and ability to interpret the sheet music.
Daniel is also passionate about how the violin works. Often students are unsure how to maintain or tune their instrument. Why does the bow need rosin? What is the sound post? When should I change my strings? These are good questions that should be asked in your lesson!
Your confidence will grow as you learn more about your technique. Get in contact to see how to improve your playing.
